I have very dry skin and apply rosehip oil and a thick cream underneath, then spritz with aloe water afterwards. Should give you an even, almost unnoticeable layer. Inspect in the mirror to look for thinner spots, and pat some more into those places. Then I patpatpat all over my face with the pads of my fingers. Then I put five dots on my face: center of forehead, one on each cheekbone, then on either side of my jawline. I'm quite pale (N20) so I mix about 2/3 tinted and 1/3 nontinted.

I have both the tinted and nontinted versions. You can also watch this video about sunscreen use. Make sure to also cover your neck and ears. Remember to use the recommended 1/4 tsp for the face (or 2 mg/cm 2 ). I rub it a bit more firmly in the corners of my nose and around my eye area because sometimes it won't blend out completely. I spread it around my face like a cream with my fingertips. I don't do anything special for application. It's not practical to wear unless I put a matte product on top like the AGB sunscreen or a translucent powder. I like the Vanicream sunscreen because it has no potentially problematic ingredients but it is the dead-opposite of matte, like # livingthesluglife. I usually apply a base layer of Vanicream sunscreen first and wait a few minutes before applying a thinner layer of the AGB Tinted on top. In the morning after I cleanse, I apply moisturizer to the skin while it's still damp, wait for it to dry, and then apply the sunscreen. I don't wear makeup though I hear this sunscreen is a good primer. Do you think that’s a good enough method? So I actually wipe my face with a toner afterwards, just in case. Because the sunscreen goes on quite thick, I’m not sure if the foaming action is fully removing the sunscreen from my face (I switched from the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser to the Foaming Cleanser for this very reason lol). Is there any way around this? I’m over the moon this product doesn’t make me greasy or shiny, but maybe it dries too matte (I can’t believe I’m even complaining about this LOL) and it just looks like I’ve spread foundation onto my skin 🤭ĭo the other versions in this line have the same effect? Do the non-tinted versions or the Kids version leave a white cast? Do they still dry down matte?Īlso, I’ve been washing it off with Cerave Foaming Cleanser. I now get self-conscience when I’m speaking to people face to face and they think I’m wearing make-up 😩 I’m a guy and I don’t wear make-up, but I’ve been told I look like I’m wearing make-up when I have this on 😩 I can see what they mean though, it does look like I’ve applied foundation onto my skin. With all that said, I do have some questions and concerns for anyone who uses this product or is familiar with it: Yes, I can see how it might feel and look a little drying on the skin afterwards, so I of course apply a moisturizer before I apply the Australian Gold. It leaves a soft, velvety glow when it first starts to dry (NOT shine or oil or grease, in case anyone was wondering!).

Everything I put on my face makes me look like an oily, shiny mess (serums, moisturizers, sunscreen, etc.), so this is wild to me lol. It’s the ONLY sunscreen I’ve ever tried that has actually dried MATTE. But after spreading and patting it down, it sinks into the skin after a few minutes. So I’ve been trying this product for a few days now and I think I’m really enjoying it? It goes on thick and creamy, and looks exactly like foundation.
